Mischa Barton

Barton, an British American actress, works in the fields of television, film, and the theatre. Barton made her New York City debut at the Lincoln Center with Tony Kushner's Slavs! and played the lead in James Lapine's Twelve Dreams. Her acting debut came in made in the year 1996 as a guest on All My Children. In the Nickelodeon animated series KaBlam!, she also recorded a voice for one of the characters. From 1996 to 1997, she voiced a character in the Nickelodeon animated TV show, KaBlam! She was in 1997 the role of lead in Lawn Dogs alongside Sam Rockwell. This was her first major acting performance. Her film roles were notable in films like M. Night Shyamalan's psychological drama The Sixth Sense (1999) and Romantic comedy Notting Hill (1999). In 1999, she also was in the Pups series, an indie crime drama. Later, Barton acted as Evan Rachel Wood's partner in the ABC series Once and Again (2001) and also in the drama indie Lost and Delirious (2001). In the Fox show The O.C.'s 2003-2006 seasons, Barton was Marissa Cooper. She won two Teen Choice Awards for the performance. Barton was well-known for her role, and Entertainment Weekly named her the year's "It Girl" in 2003. Barton was a part of the protagonist in the Richard Attenborough-directed thriller Closing the Ring as well as the comedies St Trinian's The Assassination of the high school president and Assassination of president.
